There's no such thing a "the" carbon or argon isotopes. there are many. Usually there names are based on the number of neutrons. for example, regular carbon is called carbon-12 and carbon with two extra neutrons is carbon-14. All the stable, naturally occurring carbon isotopes are carbon-12, -13, and -14. For argon they are argon-36, -38, and -40.
