When was the PSP 3001 released?

I'm interested in hacking the PSP I currently have (a model 3001) in order to play emulators on it (at least an SNES), and I found a guide telling me how, but I would have to know what the original firmware version was. The problem is, I can't remember when I got the thing, so that limits the amount I can search by. So I'm just wondering when the 3001 was released. If possible, would anyone know what version of the firmware it came with?
